Blue Tara Quartz is a rare included quartz from Brazil, best known for its fine blue fibrous inclusions and soft blue coloration.
For years, the blue inclusions were believed to be minerals such as riebeckite or olenite. More recent lab testing, however, found that the mineral responsible belongs to the tourmaline group; essentially a naturally occurring fibrous blue tourmaline within quartz.
Its limited occurrence, unusual mineralogy, and distinctive blue inclusions make Blue Tara Quartz especially sought after by mineral collectors. Each piece forms differently, with some showing fine threads, dense sprays, or cloudy blue zones suspended inside the quartz, making each piece truly one of a kind!
